25'x5', fabric paint on silk sari, the centre piece for Bon South, Bangalore. The art is inspired by various elements from the four south Indian states.
A few of the elements were planned, but the composition as a whole was concieved only as I went along the sari with a brush, over five days. It was an effort to forego the planning and just make up patterns, like I used to as a kid.
12.5feet X 2saris make up the piece that runs from the ground floor to the second along the lift corridor.
